Abstract

Experimental studies on nuclear matter radii determined by the interaction cross sections (σI) are reviewed. In particular, the procedure to determine the root‐mean square matter radii from the measured σI by Galuber model analysis is described. Future σI measurements at the RI beam factory (RIBF) in RIKEN are introduced. As new calculations, the sensitivity of the skin is discussed in the case with a proton target based on Glauber‐model calculations. In the energy region of RIBF, σI is sensitive for the skin; however, measurements with high accuracies are needed.
