Abstract

Abstract The nuclear magnetic resonance lines have been detected in aluminum and indium Heusler alloys by the pulse method in zero external magnetic field. Three distinct resonance lines are observed on each of the alloys. The resonance frequencies, extrapolated to 0°K, are 226.3, 240.0 and 257.0 Mc for Cu 2 MnAl, and 249.7, 223.2 and 238.4 Mc for Cu 2 MnIn. These three pairs of lines are identified to be due to Mn 55 , Cu 63 and Cu 65 , respectively. The estimated values of the hyperfine fields at the Mn and Cu nuclei are not significantly different. This fact may suggest that the magnetic moment has considerable itinerant character.
