Abstract

The NMR technique was applied to the study of surface complexes of olefins and saturated hydrocarbons with Ni 2+ and Co 2+ ions on Aerosil and of molecular hydrogen with these ions in Y-zeolite. Heats of formation of complexes of saturated hydrocarbons with Co 2+ were 2–2.5 kcal/mol, and those for molecular hydrogen complexes were about 4 kcal/mol. The structures of complexes formed with paramagnetic ions on the surface of Aerosil are discussed.
