Abstract
Investigations of the temperature dependence of NMR frequencies for Fe57 nuclei in FeBO3 are given in detail. The obtained results are in a good agreement with a prediction of spin wave theory for an “easy plane” weak ferromagnet, which gives the law M ∼ T2 for the temperature dependencc of the sublattice magnetization. Magnetic properties of the FeBO3 crystals were studied in a broad temperature interval. The values of TN, θ, θc, HE, HD and of canting angle γ were determined. Comparison of the temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetic moment with that of NMR frequencies has enabled us to determine that the canting angle does not depend on temperature in a broad temperature interval. The behaviour of the magnetic susceptibility and of the magnetization near TN is briefly discussed. A new phenomenon ‐ the secondary nuclear spin echo was discovered and its nature is discussed. Investigations of the longitudinal and transverse relaxation were made in a broad temperature interval. The nature of the high intensity of NMR echo signals in FeBO3 is discussed.
