Abstract

The nuclear magnetic spin-lattice relaxation times of the 63Cu and 55Mn nuclear spins in the ferromagnetic domains of Cu2MnAl and Cu2MnIn are found to be inversely proportional to the absolute temperature, and related to the magnitude of the hyperfine field. In Cu2MnAl ( gamma 2T1T)-1 is 8.4+or-0.2 and 4.7+or-0.1 s Oe2 deg-1 for the 55Mn and 63Cu nuclei respectively, and for Cu2MnIn the same parameters have the values 9.1+or-0.2 and 3.6+or-0.1 s Oe2 deg-1. The transverse relaxation rates and the longitudinal rates associated with the centres of the domain walls are also temperature dependent. The hyperfine fields at the Al and In nuclei are found to be 68.2+or-0.5 and 89.7+or-0.5 kOe respectively.
