Abstract

Relaxation times for the domain and wall resonances arising, respectively, from the edge and the center of the 180° domain walls in ferromagnetic MnP have been measured by steady state and spin echo methods at 77 K in zero external field. The values obtained by steady state method τ and the values obtained by spin echo method T 1 , T 2 are as follows; 390±40 µsec (τ d ), 27±4 µsec (τ w ), 3.7 msec ( T 1 d ), 78 µsec ( T 2 d ), and 6.4 µsec ( T 2 w ). Here, d refers to the domain resonance and w refers to the wall resonance. The value of τ d is intermediate between T 1 d and T 2 d , which is qualitatively predicted from the Portis theory. The relaxation times of the domain resonance are 12 to 14 times as large as those of wall resonance in MnP.
