Abstract

The effects of nuclear explosions in space are discussed. Possible injection mechanisms are discussed including the injection of electrons from the BETA decay of fission fragments, injection of electrons from the BETA decay of slow neutrons from nuclear reactors as well as from bombs, and injection of approximates 10-Mev protons from fusion neutrons. The removal of naturally trapped particles by space sweeping and by hydromagnetic waves is described. (L.T.W.)
