Abstract

The weak parity-violating nuclear force predicted by the d'Espagnat theory of nonleptonic weak interactions is calculated. It is found to be in conflict with the observed circular polarization of $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ rays from heavy nuclei. In contrast, the predictions of the Cabibbo theory are consistent with the data.
