Abstract

Two separate analyses of CLAS data from the E2 run period have extracted detailed information about nuclear correlations. Observations of scaling for the cross section ratios of nuclei to 3 He in ( e , e ′ ) at x b > 1 allow for the extraction of the relative probability of short range correlations in nuclei. Direct observations of 2 nucleon knockout in the reaction 3 He ( e , e ′ pp ) n in specific kinematics show a convincing signature of short range correlations in nuclei, and allow for a measurement of the relative and total momentum distributions of a correlated pair in 3 He .
