Abstract
The present work is devoted to the nuclear analyses of International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) diagnostics lower ports (LPs) with the aim to select an optimal shielding layout considering various requirements, such as shielding performance, reduced and simplified remote handling (RH) operations, standardization across all LPs, and cost-effective solutions. The LP configuration with back rack, RH shield, and front rack with stainless-steel (SS) ribs for all diagnostic LP ports is the most advantageous option to address these requirements.
