Abstract

Although the rapid development of technology and the Internet has made our lives easier in many ways, it has brought with it a number of problems. One of them is internet addiction, which is a type of behavioral addiction. This type of addiction, especially among young people, has become so dangerous that it is now considered one of the most pressing problems in the world. Internet addiction is not included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Handbook of Mental Disorders, called DSM-IV, published by the American Psychiatric Association in 1994. It was assessed within the substance dependence. Internet-related behavioral disorders are called Internet addiction, pathological Internet use, and Internet addiction. Researchers consider this dependence to be a pulse-control disease. Problems with Internet use were first highlighted in 1999 by Goldberg as an Internet use disorder. Griffiths described this dependence as a subgroup of behavioral dependencies. Key words: internet, internet addiction, addiction, causes of internet addiction, forms of internet addiction
