Abstract
The role of NSS in nation building has become more relevant today when world at large is facing a crisis of intellectual impoverishment among the youth, that resort to various unethical and anti social behaviors. In analogous, youth of North-East India today are exposed to various inducement for indulging in unsociable and vicious path due to lack of vision and grit in addressing the issues with challenge and conviction. In such situation NSS as a model of intervention for the youth through its various motivational and social consciousness modules is an appropriate approach to ignite the young minds that, are otherwise lost in the oblivion of ignorance and lack of stimulus.The present study is an attempt to throw some light on role of NSS in igniting young minds towards a positive outcome and the possibility of addressing the challenges and unrest faced by them. Also, how through innovative intervention incorporating both intellectual and social consciousness among the youth in the North East India today, can bring about prosperity and development through their participation in the region.
