Abstract

Background and aims: The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) induced mucosal lesions are well-known and well-defined in the gastroduodenal tract. Much less in known about the NSAID provoked alterations in the small bowel, however a significant proportion of the patients take NSAIDs with a daily frequency. The aim of our prospective pilot capsule endoscopy (CE) study was to evaluate the small bowel mucosal pathology in patients with continuous NSAID intake.
