Abstract
Solid-liquid equilibria of the following three systems have been measured using Differential Scanning Calorimetry ( DSC ) at 101.32 kPa : N-phenylacetamide + 4-aminoacetophenone (1), N-phenylacetamide + 3-hydroxyacetophenone (2), and N-phenylacetamide + 4-hydroxy- acetophenone (3). For all systems simple eutectic behaviors is observed. The experimental data were compared with the results calculated from the Wilson activity model and the Modified UNIFAC ( Dortmund ) model. Good agreements between the experimental data and the calculated results are obtained. The Gray’s model and the eutectic fraction method were also employed to determine the eutectic compositions. The calculated results are also satisfactory compared to the experimental data.
