Abstract

The way of regulation of the organized electricity market, in the latest package of energy regulations of the European Union "Clean energy for all Europeans", included additional regulation of the internal electricity market, with special attention to the integration of renewable energy sources and the possibility of placing electricity from renewable sources on the market, in order to reduce the greenhouse effect. One of the prerequisites for the application of these regulations and the integration of power plants based on renewable energy sources within the power system in the Republic of Serbia is the merger of the organized market of the Republic of Serbia with the single market of electricity of the European Union. The transposition of European Union regulations into the legislative system of the Republic of Serbia is preceded by the process of adaptation of regulations and the adoption of a decision by the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community. The merger of the Energy Community Contracting parties' electricity market with the European Union's single market will enable the functional integration of the electricity market at the pan-European level. The paper analyzes the transposed regulations of the European Union on the electricity market, the possibilities and effects of the transposition of the new European Union regulations on the organized electricity market, which are yet to come, as well as the role of the nominated operator of the electricity market (NEMO) and the activities of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) governed by these regulations.
