Abstract

A new species, Croton kongkandanus Esser, is described from Thailand, based mainly on its large fruits. The name of Croton lissophyllus from India and Bangladesh is validated, and C. laniflorus Geiseler is recognized as the valid name for the poorly known and illegitimate Croton lanatus Loureiro from Vietnam and described here. Seven taxa of Southeast Asian Croton are lectotypified, two new synonyms are proposed, and two potential ones are discussed, some of them in preparation for inclusion in the Flora of Thailand.
