Abstract

In this paper a novel method for fault location in three-terminal transmission lines is presented. The method is based on using first and second peaks of fault generated transients in estimating the fault location. In this method there is no need to synchronized measurement. The simulation results have shown the good performance of this approach in all conditions with different fault resistances, fault inception angles, fault locations, and pre-fault power flow.
