Abstract
Introduction: Atrioventricular (AV) and interventricular (VV) timing optimization is not commonly done in cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) patients during device implant or follow-up. Poor CRT outcome may be attributable to the lack of such device optimization. We tested the hypothesis that a research feature of the EnSite NavX™ electroanatomic mapping system (St. Jude Medical) can be used intraoperatively to characterize left ventricular (LV) mechanical function, facilitating optimization of device timing settings.
