Abstract
Four recently developed, sensitive techniques (density profiling, computed X-ray tomography, modulus profiling and chemiluminescence) have been used to follow the thermooxidative ageing behavior of a carbon-black-filled EPDM terpolymer. Comparisons between the results obtained from the four techniques indicate the existence of a complex ageing behavior dominated by diffusion-limited oxidation effects.
