Abstract

The influence of electrical interference induced by the easily ionized sodium matrix upon the laser-enhanced ionization (LEI) detection of indium analyte is studied. As the LEI signal is electrically suppressed but still detectable, the original sample concentration may be effectively recovered by using the standard addition method. Nevertheless, this method fails to apply when the added Na matrix reaches a threshold level, at which the LEI signal is completely suppressed
