Abstract
Selective dehydrogenation of trans-octahydro diol diacetates of dibenz(a,h)acridine by DDQ provides a convenient synthesis of trans-tetrahydro diol diacetates which are the valuable intermediates for the synthesis of proximate and ultimate carcinogens of dibenz(a,h)acridine.
