Novel single‐frequency erbium‐doped fiber loop laser

Abstract

An erbium-doped fiber laser is demonstrated using an erbium-doped fiber loop and a fiber grating. The novel cavity configuration enables both a short cavity length and easy tunability to be achieved simultaneously. A maximum output power of >400 μW has been achieved, and single longitudinal mode operation is obtained. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 23: 95–97, 1999.
