Abstract

Partial shading condition (PSC) is a critical factor affecting the performance of PV array in terms of mismatch losses and power loses. To alleviate it, various conventional and hybrid PV array topologies has suggested in the literature. It concentrates the shade on the influenced area. PSC decayed the power extraction capability and increses mismatch and power losses. Reconfiguration of PV panel mitigates this issue through shade dispersion. This paper introduces the new physical repositioning method, novel shade dispersion (NSD) and compares it with conventional configurations. In this paper, 36, 213W, 6X6 PV array structure has simulated in MATLAB/ Simulink. The performance has been investigated based on P-V characteristic, a number of peaks, global maximum power point (GMPP), mismatch losses (ML), and fill factor (FF) and efficiency. The performance has analyzed under horizontal (Horiz), vertical (Verti), long wide (LW), left top corner (LTC), right top corner (RTC), right bottom corner (RBC) and left bottom corner (LBC), shading patterns.
