Abstract

In the viewpoint of artificial control of the porosity, periodic porous nanostructured carbon materials have been prepared by the replica method using a synthetic opal as the template. Properties of pyrolyzed periodic porous nanostructured carbon materials have been studied as functions of their periodicity and heat treatment temperature. The sharp reflection peak corresponding to the periodicity has been experimentally observed. Porous graphite can be formed by pyrolyzing the periodic porous nanostructured carbon.
