Abstract

CMC-CS microcapsules with CMC gel core and CS coating memberance were prepared by high voltage electricstatic spray technique, comprehensively analysing particle size and its distribution, the voltage U = 9 kV, needle-surface distance h = 20 mm, pushing speed Q = 10 mL/h were tested to be optimized process parameters. Microcapsules have been applied as tetracycline carriers, loading capacity increased as the CS concentration and dosage increasing, can be up to 34.77%. The release behavior of microcapsules in different pH values were investiged, the release rate of tetracycline in pH 6.8 buffers was lower than in pH 1.4, released only 64% in 23 h in pH 6.8.The results of the paper proved facile method to control the loading and release properties of the tetracycline with polysaccharide microcapsules.
