Abstract

In this paper a novel configuration of planar power divider has been investigated at 2.4 GHz. band. The efforts are being made to improve the performance parameters of this power divider by suppressing the harmonics in order to minimize the interference from other sources. A L-shaped defected microstrip structure (DMS) is introduced in the I/P microstrip section for this purpose. The proposed structure is designed, simulated and fabricated and the simulation results are compared with the results of the conventional power divider. A comparison between the simulation and measured results show a good agreement. The proposed power divider has been found to be suitable for Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) application as a result of suppressed harmonics.
