Abstract

Abstract Novel phenolics HM-1(3), HM-2(5), HM-3(6), and HM-4(7) were obtained from phytopathogenic fungus Helicobasidium mompa which causes violet root rot against mulberry and several kinds of fruit trees. Compounds 3 and 7 could be precursors of helicobasidin and deoxyhelicobasidin, which have already been isolated from the same oriqin, while 5 and 6 were unusual types of C15-compound.
