Abstract

In the publication there is presented current status of development of passive methods of periodical insulation resistance determination in AC/DC IT systems. Their importance is strengthened by the fact that these procedures can be executed both manually by operator and by microprocessor monitors. Two novel methods offer a new approach which might be used also in other measuring applications. For better understanding of the proposed solutions there is given mathematical description of presence of DC components in voltages at both sides of rectifier. For the existing method of “Three Readings of a Voltmeter” and for new alternative techniques there is given an evaluation of their accuracy of insulation resistance determination.
