Abstract

In this work, a novel solution is proposed to reduce the impact of multiple access interference (MAI) in multiuser frequency hopping (FH) networks based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). In the proposed scheme, the samples in each transmitted OFDM block are collected from different OFDM symbols. At the receiver side, restoring the original samples' order spreads the samples of any OFDM block with MAI over several OFDM symbols. Consequently, the impact of the MAI is remarkably reduced. Simulation results have demonstrated that the number of users in the proposed FH-OFDM network can be increased by a factor of 300% when compared with the conventional FH-OFDM networks.
