Abstract

Residue Number Systems (RNS) was an efficient substitute to Positional Number Systems. Now-a-days RNS used in different fields in technology like Communications, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Digital Image Processing (DIP), Cryptography, Network Security, Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems (ES), etc., because it provides an efficient computational system in terms of speed, power, energy, area, etc. Modular Adder is an important element in RNS systems, like forward converters, reverse converters, modulo channels, etc. One of RNS applications is low power embedded systems where the dynamic range is less or moderate, Thermometer Coding (TC) is used. In this paper, a new Thermometer Coding based modular adder was proposed. This design has been simulated using NC Launch – Encounter tool in Cadence.
