Abstract

In these lectures I explain the rudiments of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) data analysis. I then describe three novel methods which have been developed in the past few years: the iterative estimation of signal and noise from a CMB data stream, the construction of a non-Gaussian likelihood function and the estimate of higher order moments from CMB maps. These new methods rely on a detailed understanding of the CMB data analysis pipeline and should be of use when analysing current and future data sets.
