Abstract

ABSTRACT The operation of the furnace depends largely on the handling of gas distribution. Charging of materials in the furnace is thus one of the most important control signals. International studies have been conducted with the aim of understanding the charging machinery and its influence on the distribution of materials, e.g. angle of repose and charging materials that meet the properties. This evaluation aims at finding the optimum technique for designing an instrument which can provide continuous real-time 3-D burden surface profile measurement at blast furnace.
