Abstract

We have prepared a dual-axial tunneling magnetoresistive (TMR) sensor for magnetic field vector measurement. Due to the measurement error caused by the crossfield effect, a theoretical single-domain model of magnetic tunneling junction was developed based on the Stoner–Wohlfarth model and utilized to depict the output characteristics of the sensor in a rotating external magnetic field in the linear range of the sensor. Experimental and calculation results indicate that the proposed theoretical model based on the dual-axial TMR sensor provides an accurate result in magnetic field vector measurement in terms of both the magnitude and angle, avoiding the crossfield error effectively.
