Abstract
AbstractDue to vicious competition in the electrical power industry, growing environmental issues and with an ever-increasing demand for electric energy, optimization of the economic load dispatch problem has become a compulsion. This paper emphasizes on a novel modified version of PSO to obtain an optimized solution of the economic load dispatch problem. In the paper, exponential particle swarm optimization (EPSO) is introduced and comparison has been performed on the basis of speed of convergence and its stability.
