Abstract
A slot-type split-ring resonator (SRR) as a new type of perturbation element for dual-mode square patch resonator is introduced in this article.The slot-type SRR used in the patch resonator allows coupling between the two degenerate modes. Moreover, coupling characteristics can be adjusted by the location of slot-type SRR. By adding two notches in the dual-mode filter with slot-type SRR, the high degenerate mode near the passband is eliminated, and the center frequency is lowered slightly.
