Abstract

By loading a bent slot of 60° close to each triangle tip, a novel dual-frequency design of a single-feed equilateral-triangular microstrip antenna is proposed and studied. By varying the length of the bent slots, the present dual-frequency design can have a tunable frequency ratio of ∼1.4–2.0, with the two operating frequencies having the same polarization planes and similar radiation characteristics. Details of the design concept and experimental results are presented and discussed. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 22: 133–136, 1999.
