Abstract
This paper presents a novel formulation for the analysis of the dielectric problems appearing in the engineering design. We emphasize the main advantages of this novel approach versus the classical integral equation approaches and highlight them with reference to some problems from the engineering praxis. We also demonstrate that all known bottlenecks of the currently used formulations can be removed using this novel approach. Further, we point out some bad modelling praxis that sometimes can lead to the inaccurate or even completely wrong results. At the end, we clearly demonstrate that, taking into account all discussed features, this extended version of Double-Layer Approach (DLA) enables analysis of any class of the problems appearing in the dielectric design.
