Abstract
A new design for a simple and accurate white gaussian noise generator is presented. The method is based on generating a random signal of uniform amplitude distribution, then transforming it to a gaussian amplitude distribution. The transformation is performed by analogue circuits (multipliers, logarithmic amplifiers, etc.). Testing of the noise generated shows that it approximates very well the characteristics of white gaussian noise.
