Abstract

A novel conformal dipole antenna with polarization diversity is proposed in this paper. In order to achieve polarization diversity, two dipole antennas are placed orthogonally on the outside of a capsule shell. The proposed antenna has a wide impedance bandwidth, which can completely cover the 902 MHz-928 MHz Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) even in the scenarios of implanting in different types of human tissues. In addition, the proposed antenna pair also features omnidirectional patterns, low cross-polarization levels, and high port isolation, which ensures a reliable communication link. Thus, the resulting configuration is an ideal candidate for the applications of medical capsules.
