Abstract

In this work, we report a novel method to fabricate the low cost cholesterol sensor based on ultra-sensitive hydrogen peroxide sensor. The sensor can directly detect different concentrations of cholesterol in a phosphate buffer (pH=7.0) through enzymatically generated hydrogen peroxide and only need very small amount of sample. The sensor provides a real-time response towards a wide linear range up to 400 mg/dl cholesterol concentration. Because of the simple structural design and fabrication, the sensor can be used for a cheap, efficient, and portable sensor system.
