Abstract

A permanent magnet DC motor is a robust and reliable machine, it permits a broad range, easy and cheap velocity control capability and to obtain high couple sizes ratio machines. In order to optimize the application of conventional DC machines a novel low cost modeling method has been studied. The method apply mathematical techniques to a single velocity and current transient record of the motor, during the turn off applying electric braking. The work compares the results of three approaches to this problem solutions with the classical measurement procedure. The first result of this work show the approach based on the solution of the differential equations, gives the better fitting to the actual records.
