Abstract

Folliculitis decalvans (FD) is a neutrophilic primary scarring alopecia characterized by chronic inflammation and intense fibrosis. It usually affects the vertex and occipital scalp of young males with recurrent outbreaks and poor therapeutic outcomes.1 In this study, our goal was to describe clinical, histopathological and immunohistochemical features of the novel scalp blue lesions in patients with FD. A descriptive cross-sectional study included seven patients with FD biopsy-proven seen at the University of Sao Paulo from 2018 to 2020.
