Abstract

Front Cover: Caffeic acid is a component of coffee beans and bears catechol functionality. In article number 2100378 by Kotaro Satoh and co-workers, a caffeic acid-derived styrene monomer is amenable to RAFT polymerization, which is one of the emerging methodologies for polymer synthesis. Combined with protection/deprotection processes, the polymerization results in welldefined functional block copolymers consisting of catechol-containing segments and acrylic segments.
