Abstract

Two novel bifunctional catalysts, cobalt(II) 2,9,16,23-tetraaminophthalocyanine CoPc(NH2)4 bound to basic calcined Mg–Al hydrotalcite (Mg/Al=3:1) modified with organic functional groups by complexation and by covalent linkage, respectively, have been found to exhibit higher catalytic activity and stability in 1-octanethiol autoxidation than the corresponding supported CoPc(NH2)4 catalyst under equivalent reaction conditions.
