Abstract

he formation of a salivary fistula after elective parotidecomy is rare, but it can cause both physical and psychosocial roblems. While most fistulas resolve with medical or surical management, for example, with the use of hyoscine,1 otulinum toxin,2 and cyanoacrylate glue, refractory fistulas an be difficult to treat, and completion parotidectomy can amage the facial nerve. We report the successful treatment f a persistent parotid fistula using an allogenic acelluar dermal matrix (AlloDerm®, LifeCellTM, BioHorizons, irmingham, USA) after several interventions had failed. To ur knowledge, this use of AlloDerm® has not previously een reported.
