Abstract
The Nottingham Express Transit Line 1 was opened in March 2004. It consists of 14 route-km, of which 4 km are on-street. This paper describes the design of the on-street alignment and some of the technical issues, such as effects of combining horizontal and vertical geometry, associated with reintroducing tram track into the streets of the city of Nottingham.
