3‐Bromosulfolene, a Novel Precursor for 2‐Bromo‐1,3‐butadieneThe preparation of 3‐bromosulfolene (4) from 2‐butyne‐1,4‐diol (1) in three steps is described. Heating of 4 in the presence of maleic anhydride provides 6, the Diels‐Alder adduct of 2‐bromo‐1,3‐butadiene (5).
