Abstract

Notice on the Crystal Structure of Bimesityl The interplanar angle Φ in bimesityl (2,2′,4,4′,6,6′-hexamethylbiphenyl) is shown to be 90° in the temperature range of 155–295 K by X-ray diffraction analysis. The temperature dependence of the angle of rotation (ca. 60°) for one of the p-methyl groups is remarkable.
