Abstract
Se informa sobre la ausencia del abejorro Bombus dahlbomii Guerin-Meneville en Punta Arenas (Region de Magallanes, Chile) durante la primavera y verano (2017-2018). El analisis del estado actual de la flora y vegetacion, en adicion con el registro climatico y teoria de la ventana temporal no son elementos suficientes para explicar la ausencia de este apido. Se proporcionan los antecedentes historicos para completar su ficha nomenclatural y establecer un posible estatus de no continuidad de su existencia especifica. Se hipotetiza que este abejorro, por razones desconocidas, estaria iniciando su periodo de extincion
