Abstract

As the economy develops rapidly, barrier-free environment reflects the social progress and urban civilization. The on-site investigation and study of the barrier-free environment of North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an show: there are some infrastructure for barrier-free environment as specially-used lifts, the parking lots, the slopes and the eyesight-disability-friendly tracks, which facilitate the sightseeing activities of the special groups; however, the absence of the systematic design of the barrier-free environment, results in the deficiency of coherence of the barrier-free facilities, besides, the tourists and staff on the Square know little about the barrier-free environment. The aforementioned implies that we need do more on the construction of the humanity barrier-free environment.
